MBC president resigns

Ohm Ki-young, president of the Munhwa Broadcasting Corporation, and seven other executives of the TV network have tendered their resignations, the Foundation of Broadcast Culture, the largest shareholder of the MBC, said.

The resignations of the top officials of MBC will be discussed at the board of directors’ meeting on Thursday, the foundation said.

“Ohm and the seven other executives tendered the resignation on Monday,” said Kim U-ryong, head of the foundation. “The board of directors will discuss their fates. We will also put forth efforts to revamp MBC to serve the public as a trusted broadcaster.”
