Ongoing: Every weekend, the Westin Chosun Seoul’s Japanese restaurant offers set menus featuring homemade oden and soup.
Oden (odeng in Korean, fish cake soup) is a popular winter food in Japan. Sushi Cho makes its oden soup in the traditional style with dried tuna and sea tangle; it is seasoned with soy sauce and boiled with kamaboko (fish cake) made of pureed white fish, radish, konjac (a plant used to make a kind of vegan gelatin) and egg. Guests can choose their own ingredients and watch as it’s made in front of them.
The set menus also include boiled globefish salad, oyster salad with yuzu (yuja, a citrus fruit) sauce, Shirako steak, hamaguri (clam) with fermented tuna sauce and patjuk (sweet red bean porridge).
The set menus cost 60,000 won and 80,000 won ($52 and $69) for lunch and 100,000 won and 120,000 won for dinner. All prices exclude tax and service charges.

Through Dec. 31: There is no better way to enjoy a quiet afternoon than sitting back with a cup of tea and a sweet dessert at the Terrace Lounge of the Grand Hilton Seoul. Dec. 24 and 25: The Hyatt Regency Incheon’s Restaurant 8 has organized a Live Christmas Market in the manner of a traditional European market with wine sales, auctions, live music and a kid’s area with activities.
The Live Christmas Market goes beyond dining and gives customers the opportunity to interact with chefs while they cook fresh and authentic Eastern and Western dishes from the restaurant’s five show kitchens.
Customers will be able to walk through the market and choose from the best of Restaurant 8’s selection of Italian, French, Asian, Korean and Japanese cuisine with sushi and yakitori specialties alongside traditional Christmas favorites and a wide array of desserts.
Lunch costs 85,000 won and dinner is 100,000 won, excluding tax and service charges.

Dec. 24 to 31: Lotte Hotel Seoul and Lotte Hotel World are offering Christmas and Year End packages for eight days only.
Lotte Hotel Seoul has three packages. The “For You” package includes one night in a Deluxe room and a gift of four polar bear dolls for 260,000 won. The “For Singles” package includes a one night stay with desserts for four, four movie tickets, an Estee Lauder cosmetics set and four polar bear dolls for 350,000 won. The “For Family” package includes one night in a Suite, breakfast for three, a Bvlgari mask pack worth 170,000 won and four polar bear dolls. It costs 400,000 won.
The “Lotte Hotel World” package includes one night in a Deluxe room, four polar bear dolls, Delica Hans Bakery gift certificates worth 30,000 won, two passes to Lotte World, two movie tickets and a Krispy Kreme Doughnut exchange card for two. It costs 300,000 won.
For dining, Lotte Hotel Seoul’s Vine Wine Restaurant & Bar, Momoyama, Toh Lim and Peninsula restaurants offer a colorful array of special menus for Christmas Eve. Each restaurant has recreated their most popular menus and organized various year-end festivities.
The modern and stylish Vine Wine Restaurant & Bar offers a sommelier service and a large collection of wines. The Japanese restaurant Momoyama and the Chinese restaurant Toh Lim offer breathtaking views of the city lights at night. Or delight in the view of the Christmas tree from the windows of the Italian restaurant Peninsula. Prices range from 120,000 won to 150,000 won, excluding tax and service charges. Meanwhile, the bakery and cafe Delica Hans will sell Christmas products from Dec. 21 to 25, including beautifully decorated Christmas cakes, the German Christmas bread “stollen,” the Italian Christmas bread “panettone” and made-to-order cakes.
Also, Lotte Hotel World invites people to enjoy their White Christmas Happy Pair Day party on Christmas Eve, where various games and prizes will be available. The party goes from 5 p.m. to 2 a.m. the next day.
