Democrats physically block the budget adjustment

About 40 Democratic Party lawmakers marched into the conference room of the Budget and Account Committee of the National Assembly on Thursday and occupied the chairman’s seat in an attempt to block the ruling Grand Nationals from forming a subcommittee on adjusting the budget bill.
As the Democrats occupied the chairman’s seat, Grand Nationals rushed into the room. About 20 Grand National lawmakers came and complained the Democrats’ action. Scuffles broke out as time went on.
The Democratic Party has opposed to the Grand National Party’s plan to form the subcommittee to adjust the budget bill at 10 a.m. Lee Kang-rae, floor leader of the Democratic Party, said the formation should take place after the proposed summit of President Lee Myung-bak, DP Chairman Chung Sye-kyun and GNP Chairman Chung Mong-joon.
