CINEMATHEQUE PUSAN - DAVID LEAN RETROSPECTIVE

To Jan. 31: Cinematheque Pusan will screen 11 films directed by David Lean, a renowned director in cinema history. His filmography includes: “The Bridge on the River Kwai,” “Lawrence of Arabia,” “Doctor Zhivago” and “A Passage to India.” All films will be screened with English subtitles and some will have Spanish subtitles.

Cinematheque Pusan is located at Dongbaek Station, Busan line No. 2, exit 3.

SIWA - COFFEE MORNING & INTEREST GROUPS SIGN-UP

Wednesday: This week, join SIWA and register for one or more of the ongoing groups and events.

The Seoul International Women’s Association offers classes, for and by its members, twice a year. Through the Interest Groups you can participate in tours, learn traditional Korean arts and crafts and more. The course offerings include: Let’s Speak Korean, Korean Traditional Flower Arrangement, and Basic Korean Cooking, Language & Culture.

Admission is first come, first serve for registered SIWA members. Non-members may register on the day of the event.

The fee is 12,000 won ($10.67) for members and 17,000 won for non-members.

The event is from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the Grand Ambassador Hotel at Dongguk University Station, line No.3, exit 1.

U.S. EMBASSY MEETING, BUSAN

Thursday: Cynthia C. Sharpe, Consul General and Minister Counselor for Consular Affairs for the Embassy of the United States, Republic of Korea, will hold Town Hall meetings for American citizens living in the Busan this month. Using questions submitted in advance, Consul General Sharpe will address various issues of importance to American citizens living in Korea. Topics may include U.S.-Korea relations, marriage, adoption, immigration or crisis planning. You can submit your questions for Consul General Sharpe in advance to seoulinfo@state.gov, indicating for which Town Hall event the question is directed and where in Korea you live.

Consul General Sharpe works closely with the United States Forces Korea to provide Department of State assistance and coordinates with USFK on all Embassy consular matters affecting U.S. military members and civilians stationed in the Republic of Korea.

The meeting in Busan will be held at 6:30 p.m. in the International Conference Room, 12th Floor, Busan City Hall at Busan City Hall Station, line No.1, exit 1.
