A well-preserved ancient bronze knife shaped like a bipa, or traditional Korean string instrument, was found yesterday buried under a dolmen dating back to the 10th or 9th century B.C. in Yeosu, South Jeolla. The knife is considered the best-preserved ancient artifact to be discovered in Korea, according to the Research Centre of Dolmens in Northeast Asia. Along with the knife, a 43.4-centimeter (17-inch) bipa-shaped bronze knife, the longest such knife to be dug up in the Korean peninsula, was found under the dolmen.
