AFC MVP NO RE-SIGNS WITH POHANG STEELERSNo Byung-jun, the AFC Champions League’s Most Valuable Player, has re-signed with the Pohang Steelers for another two years. Pohang announced it had reached a new deal with their free agent forward’s representatives yesterday. The details of the contract were not released.
No is currently training with the national team in Malaga, Spain, in hopes of making the 23-man roster for the 2010 World Cup in South Africa in June.
“We will be competing in the AFC Champions League as well as several other tourneys. No is an important part of our team and our plans for the upcoming season,” said one team official.
As a key player on the AFC Champions League winning team, No scored three goals and three assists in 22 games for the Steelers last season. The signing comes days after the team signed forwards Seol Ki-hyeon and Mota.
