A dozen lawmakers stormed into the council conference hall at 12:40 p.m. yesterday and began a sit-in protest to physically block the passage of a bill that would authorize the merging of Seongnam, Gwangju and Hanam cities in Gyeonggi.
Council members of the Grand National Party say the council chairman may issue an ordinance to maintain order to bring the bill to a vote unless the sit-in protest ends by 10 a.m. this morning. [YONHAP]
