New flu alert level to be lowered
Published: 05 Mar. 2010, 22:15
The Health Ministry yesterday decided to lower the alert level for the A(H1N1) flu by one notch as it is showing signs of quickly subsiding. The move lowers the level to the second-lowest “yellow” level. It will take effect on Monday.
Under the move, the ministry will disband a task force that monitors the infection pace and maps out countermeasures around the clock. It will also ease restrictions on festivals and gatherings that were imposed for fear that they could accelerate the disease’s spread. Korea raised the alert level to “red” in November.
