Mining for gold

Yang Dae-woong, second from right, the head of the Guro District Office, participates in a performance marking the launch of the Gold Miners, a group of volunteer workers comprised of Guro citizens, at the Guro District Office in southwestern Seoul, yesterday. The district office has designated every Friday as Gold Mining Day, when used mobile phones, computers and home electronic appliances are collected for the rare metals, such as gold, silver and bronze, they contain.
