Park Chan-ho selected as member of Dodger’s ‘Team of the Decade’Park Chan-ho was selected to the Los Angeles Dodgers’ “Team of the Decade” as its fifth starter. In a report by the Major League Baseball’s Web site yesterday, Park was included in a team of Dodgers’ best players for a span of 10 seasons stretching from 2000 to 2009.
The selection committee consisting of Hall of Fame Spanish-language broadcaster Jaime Jarrin, 10-time All-Star Steve Garvey, vice president of communications Josh Rawitch and official team historian Mark Langill chose Chad Billingsley, Kevin Brown, Derek Lowe and Brad Penny as the starting pitchers.
Having broke into the league with the Dodgers in 1994, Park pitched in the team’s starting rotation until 2001 and last played for the Dodgers in a relief role in 2008. Park posted 84 wins, 58 losses and two saves with an ERA of 3.77 in nine seasons. Other notable names on the list include Eric Gagne, Jeff Kent and Adrian Beltre and manager Joe Torre.
