테스트

Hyosung Power & Industrial Systems Performance Group Chief Cho Hyun-moon, left, and Qatar Deputy Prime Minister H.E. Abdullah bin Hamad Al-Attiyah sign the EPC deal.

Hyosung signed a contract to expand an electrical transmission network worth approximately $116 million with Qatar General Electricity & Water Corporation, or Kahramaa, at the Grand Hyatt Hotel in Doha, Qatar, on April 13, local time.

Late last year, Hyosung received a Letter of Award for building five new substations on a turnkey basis for Qatar General Electricity & Water Corporation under the Electricity Transmission Network Expansion Project, Phase IX, and the new project falls under the same auspices. An EPC contract includes all processes from engineering and procurement to construction. Only a contractor with proven expertise across the board is awarded such a project. The substations will be complete in 2012.

Director of Kahramaa Technical Affairs Saad Ahmad Al-Mohannadi said, “Considering Hyosung’s product excellence, capabilities in EPC turnkey projects, as well as its differentiated quality and services, we believe that Hyosung is qualified for a long-term partnership for Qatar’s Power Grid Expansion Project, which demands levels of reliability and efficiency,” adding, “we expect Hyosung to play a large role in developing Qatar’s energy infrastructure.”

With this, Hyosung has secured a firm foothold as an EPC contractor, in the Middle East. At the signing ceremony, Hyosung Power & Industrial Systems Performance Group Chief Cho Hyun-moon said, “Hyosung is growing rapidly as a professional EPC contractor, as well as an ultra-high-voltage electrical equipment manufacturer, in the Middle East, Africa, Europe, Russia, and America. We will grow into a global leader in providing a total solution for energy infrastructure and plant construction.”
