Lee, Hu to meet for summit talkPresident Lee Myung-bak will make a two-day visit to Shanghai, China, this week to hold a summit with Chinese President Hu Jintao and attend the opening ceremony of the 2010 World Expo, his office said yesterday.
Lee will arrive in Shanghai Friday morning before meeting with Hu to discuss ways to enhance the strategic partnership between South Korea and China and exchange views on pending regional issues, the Blue House said.
On Friday evening, Lee will attend a welcome dinner and the opening ceremony of the World Expo, which runs from May 1 to Oct. 31 with 192 countries and 52 international organizations participating.
On Saturday, Lee will visit the South Korean and Chinese pavilions at the World Expo, the Blue House said. The president will return home after meeting with South Korean residents living in the Chinese city that afternoon.
