Seventh inning was a bad stretch for Park

Park Chan-ho returned to the New YorkYankees lineup yesterday after a month sidelined with a hamstring injury, but was shellacked for two home runs and three runs in one inning of work against the Boston Red Sox at Yankee Stadium.

The veteran relief pitcher entered the game in the seventh inning with the Yankees nursing a 7-6 lead but gave up a two-run homer to Kevin Youkilis and another solo homer to Victor Martinez. Park left the game with his team trailing the game 9-7, but the Yankees managed to score four runs in the bottom of the ninth.

Park’s ERA went from 4.76 to 8.10.
