Kim Dong-jin fan favorite in All-Star voting

In the latest tally of votes for players who will join the 2010 K-League All-Star team, defender Kim Dong-jin of Ulsan Hyundai continues to be a fan favorite.

The defender has received a total of 47,750 votes as of yesterday, more than triple the number of FC Seoul forward Lee Seung-yeol, who ranks second with 14,000 votes.

Other members of the 2010 South Africa World Cup squad - including Lee Dong-gook, Kim Jung-woo, Cho Yong-hyung, Kim Hyung-il and Jung Seong-ryong - have received a high number of votes as well.

The K-League All-Stars are set to take on FC Barcelona on Aug. 4 at Seoul World Cup Stadium. Fan voting wraps up on Friday.

Choi Kang-hee - the manager of Jeonbuk Motors, the 2009 K-League champs - will manage the star-studded squad. In addition to the top 11 players chosen by fans, Choi will pick an additional seven reserve players for the team.

The upcoming match will be Barcelona’s second in Korea. It previously played the Suwon Bluewings in 2004, a match the Korean team won. Although FC Barcelona has not announced its lineup at this point, Barca CEO Joan Oliver promised to bring the team’s top players to the game, barring injuries. Barca’s lineup features some of the world’s top football stars such as David Villa and Carles Puyol as well as Lionel Messi and Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
