Hanyang U. student chosen first overall

Park Jun-bum, 22, of Hanyang University was selected first overall by KEPCO45 at the 2010-11 Korea Volleyball Federation (KOVO) Annual Amateur Draft yesterday. Listed at 2-meters (6 feet 6 inches), Park played on the national team at the FIVB World League tourney this year.

KEPCO45 had a big offseason, sending Moon Sung-min to Hyundai Capital and receiving Lim Si-hyung and Ha Kyung-min in return. With the addition of Park, KEPCO45 is expected to challenge Samsung Fire & Marine Insurance, Hyundai Capital, LIG Liability Insurance and Korean Air for one of four playoff spots.

Woori Capital selected Park Joo-hyung of Sungkyunkwan University with the second pick and LIG picked Jung Sung-min of Gyeonggi University third overall.
