Lotte Giants looking for a new managerLotte Giants are looking for a new manager after deciding not to re-sign its manager Jerry Royster to another contract, according to a statement released by Lotte on Wednesday. The Lotte front office also parted ways with Royster’s coaching staff.
Royster became the first foreign manager in the KBO in 2008 and brought immediate results, taking the Giants to the postseason with a third-place finish in the regular season. It was Lotte’s first postseason appearance in eight seasons. Royster led the Giants to the postseason in each of his three seasons with the club, making it the first time the Giants made it to the postseason in three consecutive seasons. But his contract was likely not renewed because Royster failed to advance past the first round of the playoffs in each of his three seasons.
