Nat’l football player: military exemption
A local court ruled in favor of Korean national team defender Cho Yong-hyung to free him from the country’s two-year mandatory military service, court officials said Thursday.The 27-year-old World Cup member, now playing for Qatari Al Rayyan, has claimed that he is not able to carry out his military duty because of a serious knee injury.
He got injured in a World Cup qualifier in 2009 and had surgery to remove a part of a plate in his left knee.
