Seoul seeking foreign interns

The Seoul Metropolitan Government is seeking foreign university students who are interested in applying for its four-week internship program, the city announced yesterday.

A total of 40 interns will be hired for the unpaid internship, which will begin Jan. 7. All foreign university students who are studying in Korea are eligible to apply.

Duties will include examining other cities’ policies and responding to urgent needs and complaints of expatriates in Seoul.

The Seoul Metropolitan Government has been running its Global Internship Program since 2008 to allow foreign students - more than 140 students from 30 countries have participated so far, according to the city government - to experience Seoul’s administrative affairs.

For those who are interested, apply at www.seoul.go.kr or http://global.seoul.go.kr. The application deadline is Dec. 6.
