ASIA SOCIETY: KOREA-SOUTH AFRICA RELATIONS

Tuesday: The Asia Society Korea has invited Hilton Anthony Dennis, South African ambassador to Korea, to talk about the relationship between Korea and Africa. Dennis was a member of the African National Congress and an exile because of his participation in the anti-apartheid struggle. In 1991, Dennis returned to South Africa and served the movement in various capacities during the negotiations of the peace process. After South Africa’s first democratic elections in 1994, he entered public service and served as a deputy and then chief director of the Domestic Intelligence Service until 1999. He was a director general of the South African Foreign Intelligence Service from 1999 until his retirement from the Security Services in 2009.

The Korea Center serves as a gateway for engagement on issues affecting Korea, the Asian-Pacific region, and U.S.-Asia ties. The Center presents programs addressing technology, policy, business and education as well as arts and culture, and integrates Korean voices into the broad range of Asia Society programs across the region.

The seminar starts at noon and goes on for 90 minutes.

Admission costs 30,000 won ($26) for members and 40,000 won for non-members. The venue for the seminar is the Peacock Suite on the 36th floor of the Lotte Hotel Seoul. Go to Euljiro Ipgu Station, line No. 2.
