AUSTRALIAN EMBASSY - AUSTRALIA-KOREA YEAR OF FRIENDSHIP

Wednesday: The Australian Embassy in Korea will celebrate the 50th anniversary of diplomatic ties between Australia and South Korea at the Grand Hyatt Hotel, Grand Ballroom, from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. About 2,000 visitors are expected to participate.

All guests are required to bring their invitations. Dress code is business attire, military uniform or national dress.


AMCHAM - ENERGY & GREEN GROWTH COMMITTEE MEETING

Wednesday: The American Chamber of Commerce in Korea has organized a luncheon for both members and non-members to attend “Energy and Electric Power in Korea: Competitive Pricing, Deregulation and Smart Grid,” by Kim Young-chang, a consultant at the International Atomic Energy Agency and an adjunct professor in Department of Energy Studies at Aju University.

Registration starts at 11:30 a.m. and the meeting starts at noon.

Admission is 57,000 won ($50.97) for members and 67,000 won for non-members, both including lunch.

The venue is the Coral Room on the third floor of Millennium Seoul Hilton.

GVC - KOREAN CRAFTS

Friday: The Itaewon-Hannam Global Village Center has organized an event to give hands-on experience in Korean crafts called Chilbo Gongyae, which involves plastering various colors of enamel onto metal pieces. It is commonly known outside Korea as Cloisonne. In Korea, this process is used to make different kinds of jewelry.

The two-hour event starts at 10:00 a.m. at the Itaewon-Hannam Global Village Center.

The cost is 15,000 won per person.

EUCCK - LUNCHEON

Tuesday: The European Union Chamber of Commerce in Korea has invited Tomasz Kozlowski, a Polish EU ambassador to Korea, to deliver a luncheon speech about the relationship between the EU and Korea, “EU-Korea Strategic Partnership: Growing Together.”

The EU-Korea relationship has evolved over the past few years, based on shared values, common issues of global concern and the increasing role of both partners on the world stage, demonstrated by the signing of two agreements during 2010.

Registration will start at 11:30 a.m.

Admission costs 60,000 won for members and 80,000 won for non-members.

The venue for the seminar is the Grand Hyatt Seoul, Namsan 1 and 2 rooms on the second floor.
