[Letter] Genuine meaning of pluralism

Pluralism is good and positive and represents the recognition of freedom and human responsibility in all richness within the field of debate. The diversity of thought and actions in the temporal expression of opinion is one of respect for the legitimate opinion of each one. It is considered an aberration of human cloning as described in the novel “Brave New World” by Aldous Huxley, in which men come out of the laboratory are all the same, identical, without personality, without character, without discretion and without personal opinions.

In healthy coexistence between men, there must exist points of view and different behaviors that are based on common values, which must be a guarantee fund and the fundamental demands of human nature. Hence freedom without any purpose, without objective standards and without responsibility is clearly undesirable. Neither are acceptable relativistic scepticism and pragmatism that will write on another occasion.

The Nobel laureate Imre Kertesz states in his “Diary of a Hat” that “a civilization that has come to something after all is based on moral truth, science and logic has been opened step in this process and has become far and at the same time in organizing social life.” In a pluralistic society, the most important thing is to listen to those who have opinions different from ours. The clearest sign that we love freedom and pluralism is by learning from others.
