The race to get to the final of the Korean Professional Volleyball League (V-League) started on Wednesday and the Samsung Fire Bluefangs and Hyundai Capital Skywalkers are battling for the right to play against the Korean Air Jumbos for the championship.
The Bluefangs led the regular-season series against the Skywalkers 4-1 and have already captured the first game in the best-of-five series. The fate of Skywalkers could be decided tomorrow if they lost yesterday. (Yesterday’s game wasn’t final as of press time). The Bluefangs rely heavily on Gavin Schimitt, who scored 31 points in the first game.
Meanwhile, Hyundai desperately needs Hector Soto to step up his game. In addition, a regular-season rivalry between Hyundai’s Moon Sung-min and Samsung’s Park Chul-woo will be fun to watch.
