27 North Koreans finally repatriated

A wooden fishing boat carrying 27 North Koreans (above left) follows a North Korean navy ship (above right) after it crossed the Northern Limit Line off the west coast of the Korean Peninsula on March 27. Two South Korean patrol ships (below) participated in the operation. The North doesn t recognize the Northern Limit Line, which was drawn by the U.S.-led UN forces in 1953. South Korean military officials noted that this is the first time that the North recognized the line. [YONHAP]

북한주민 27명을 태운 목선(왼쪽 위)이 한반도의 서해상 북방한계선(NLL)을 넘어 북한 해군 경비정(오른쪽 위)을 따라 가고 있다. 아래쪽 남한 해군 고속정 두 척이 목선의 북송을 도와줬다. 북한은 미군이 이끄는 UN군이 1953년 설정한 북방한계선을 인정하지 않고 있다. 남한군 관계자들은 이번이 북한이 북방한계선을 인정한 첫 사례라고 말했다. [연합]
