This is the first game in the best-of-seven KBL finals. The KCC Egis reached the finals by beating the ET Land Elephants in the semifinals, while the Promy got here by downing the KT Sonicboom. The Egis dominated the Promy during the regular season with a 5-1 record against Dongbu, but things always seem to even out during the finals.
This series will be a battle between offense and defense. The Egis like to score with the Ha Seung-jin - the tallest player in the league - leading his team in the low post.
The Promy will fight back with their hard-to-penetrate zone defense. Guard Park Ji-hyun locks things down outside, while Kim Joo-sung and Yoon Ho-young, two tall defenders in the middle, block up the lane and make it difficult for opposing teams to get easy buckets.
Two foreign players, the Egis’ Eric Dawson and the Promy’s Rodrique Benson, are known for their offensive prowess and it will be interesting to see how they stack up against each other.
