The Forbes 400, the wealthiest Americans selected by Forbes Magazine, have something in common with the Eskimos in Greenland and ⓐthe Maasai people in East Africa. ⓑThey are groups with highest happiness index in the world. According to a survey conducted by the University of Illinois in the United States, ⓒthe rich and the Eskimos ⓓshared the top with an average happiness index at 80 points. The Maasai people followed with 79 points. The study illustrates that happiness is a subjective and relative value. The Eskimos and the Maasai are not caught in the trap of comparing their lives with others, and as they are sufficiently content with their given conditions, there is no reason why they should not feel happy.
