The sixth-place Doosan Bears are in Daejeon this weekend to face off against the seventh-place Hanwha Eagles.
The Bears are still dealing with their manager’s surprise resignation on Monday. Kim Kyung-moon coached eight seasons with the club but gave himself the axe after his team was performing worse than expected. Now the Bears are trying to get back on track under interim manager Kim Kwang-soo.
Good thing they’re playing the Eagles, who have the KBO’s worst ERA (4.95) and the second-worst team batting average (.244). But the Eagles have at least tried to upgrade their stagnant offense with last week’s addition of slugger Karim Garcia. The 36-year-old returned to the KBO after a year in Mexico and has already shown off his power with a grand slam on Thursday.
