E Jiah to resume lawsuit against ex-husband Seo Taiji
E submitted a preparatory pleading to the Seoul Family Court on Tuesday, despite having previously withdrawn from the court case on April 30.
In the original lawsuit, she had sought 5.5 billion won ($5.1 million) in alimony and division of property from the legendary rock star. But she later dropped the case, saying her decision to withdraw had come after she had suffered severe mental anguish and an invasion of privacy to herself and family.
Her ex-husband, however, pledged on May 17 to proceed with the legal battle and said some unspecified facts needed to be clarified by the court.
The nation’s current most-talked-about entertainers were married in the United States in 1997 and divorced in 2009. The couple shocked fans in mid-April when they revealed the relationship to the public. They are scheduled to defend their pleas at the Seoul Family Court on July 4.
