TechnoMart shaken by gym: Test
A demonstration is held at the 39-story TechnoMart complex yesterday to prove that Tae Bo exercises in a fitness center were the cause of 10 minutes of profound shaking on July 5. 7월 5일 10여분 동안 심하게 건물이 흔들린 것은 당시 피트니스센터에서 있었던 태보 운동이 원인이라는 것을 증명하는 공개 시연이 어제 테크노 마트(39층 건물)에서 열렸다. 7월 5일 태보 운동 때와 똑같은 조건과 활동을 재연하기 위해 중년 시연자 23명을 동원했고, 심지어는 똑같은 테크노 음악에 맞춰 운동을 했다. 변선구 기자
A group of 23 middle-aged people did vigorous exercises at the 39-story TechnoMart complex, and managed to make it shake.

중년 시연자 23명이 테크노마트에서 격렬하게 운동을 했다. 그 결과로 건물이 흔들렸다.
They were part of a demonstration to prove the owner’s claim that ten minutes of intense shaking on July 5, which led to the evacuation of the complex near Gyangbyeon Station, in eastern Seoul, for two days, was caused by an exercise session in a fitness center on the 12th floor.

건물주의 주장을 입증하는 공개 시연 장면이다. 서울 동부지역 강변역 부근에 위치한 39층 주상복합 건물에서 7월 5일 10분 동안 강렬한 진동이 발생해 입주민들이 이틀 동안 소개됐다. 건물주는 12층에 위치한 피트니스 센터에서 있었던 집단 운동이 원인이라고 주장했다.
The demonstration was held at 3:30 p.m. yesterday, and people working on the complex’s upper floors said they were all shook up. “I felt almost the same vibrations today as on July 5,” a worker on the 31st floor surnamed Lee said in an interview with the Korea JoongAng Daily.

어제 오후 3시30분에 공개 시연을 실시했다. 건물 상층부에서 근무하는 사람들은 진동을 느꼈다고 말했다. 31층에서 근무하는 이모씨는 본지 기자와 인터뷰에서 “7월 5일에 느꼈던 진동과 거의 같은 진동을 오늘 느꼈다”고 말했다.
Two Korea JoongAng Daily reporters also felt tremors on the 31st floor. The minor vertical vibration felt like riding a boat over light waves. If it had gone on for several minutes, it might have caused discomfort, dizziness or nausea.

본지 기자 2명도 31층에서 진동을 느꼈다. 가벼운 파도 위에서 배를 타고 있는 듯한 소폭의 수직 진동이 느껴졌다. 진동이 수분 동안 계속 이어졌다면, 어지러움과 메스꺼움 등 불편함을 일으켰을 것이다.
On July 5, the upper 19 floors of the complex, which has apartments and a popular shopping mall, shook for 10 minutes. After having the complex inspected, owner Prime Group said the cause was 17 middle-aged people in a 12th floor fitness center performing Tae Bo exercises, a mixture of boxing and taekwondo that became popular in the 1990s.

주거용 아파트와 쇼핑몰이 들어선 상층부 19개 층이 7월 5일 10분 동안 흔들렸다. 안전진단을 실시한 뒤 건물주인 프라임 그룹은 12층에 위치한 피트니스 센터에서 중년 17명이 실시했던 태보(1990년대 유행했던 태권도와 권투 동작을 결합한 에어로빅 댄스) 운동이 원인이라고 주장했다.
