Schwarzenegger museum opens in Vienna
The “Styrian Oak” himself was absent for the event, timed to coincide with Arnie’s 64th birthday, but will attend a grander opening at a later date, according to organizers.
Visitors gathered for a first look at the two-story light-yellow house, restored to look as it did when Schwarzenegger first came into the world on July 30, 1947. Among the 1,000 objects and photos on display are his very first weights, with which the future champion bodybuilder started training, as well as the desk behind which he sat as California governor. Monitors also recall Schwarzenegger’s Hollywood career, with a life-size model of his “Terminator” standing in a corner.
The former bodybuilder, actor and politician has sought to revive his film career since leaving the California governor’s office earlier this year, but has mostly made headlines lately over his divorce from Maria Shriver after admitting in May that he had fathered a child with the couple’s former housekeeper.

오스트리아에 슈워제네거 박물관 오픈
최근 불륜으로 이혼소송을 당한 아널드 슈워제네거 전 미국 캘리포니아 주지사가 64세 특별한 생일 선물을 받았다.
31일 독일 뉴스전문 채널 NTV 등에 따르면 그의 출생지인 오스트리아 탈에 '슈워제네거 박물관'이 지난 30일 문을 열었다.
슈워제네거의 옛집 위치에 들어선 이 박물관은 200㎡ 규모로 그의 보디빌더 시절 모습과 할리우드 스타로 활동할 당시의 기록물 등 1천여점들도 채워졌다. 특히 그가 사용했던 옛 침대 등 물건들은 실제와 똑같이 보이도록 새로 만들어졌다.
개관 첫주에만 1천명이 다녀갈 것으로 슈워제너거측은 예측했다.
슈워제네거는 박물관 개관 행사에는 참석하지 못했지만, 영상 메시지를 보냈다.
그는 "이 집은 내 삶을 기록한다. 지금 내 삶은 끝난 것이 아니라 더욱 많은 액션으로 다가올 것이다. 박물관에 오신 것을 환영한다"라고 말했다.
이어 "이곳에서 모든 것이 시작됐다. 많은 사람들이 조롱했지만, 나는 그런 모든 큰 꿈을 꿨다"고 덧붙였다.
슈워제네거는 올가을 또 한번의 개관식을 계획하고 있으며, 이번에는 직접 참석할 예정이다.
