Former Sinawe singer sued for assault

Yim Jae-beom, a singer and star of the reality show “Survival: I Am a Singer,” has been sued for assault, according to the Seocho Police Department in southern Seoul.

The police said it received on Saturday a complaint from a man identified only as Kim. Kim claims that Yim and two security guards beat him up on July 29 after he asked Yim to lower the volume of his rehearsal since Kim’s office is near Yim’s rehearsal studio.

Kim and the two guards work for Yedang Entertainment, the agency that represents Yim.

In response, Yedang Entertainment said that while Kim did complain about the noise, the two reached a compromise through dialogue and Yim never beat Kim.

Yim, 48, debuted in 1986 with heavy-metal band Sinawe, but retired in 2005 after he was injured in a bus accident.
