Diack confirmed as IAAF president
DAEGU - Senegal’s Lamine Diack has been elected unopposed to a new term as president of the IAAF, the world governing body for athletics.The 78-year-old Diack received 173 “yes” votes and 27 “no” votes.
Ukraine’s former pole-vaulting great Sergey Bubka was voted off the panel, with Qatar’s Dahlan Al-Hamad, Britain’s Sebastian Coe, Canada’s Abby Hoffman and Robert Hersh of the U.S. going through.
