Shindong mulled liposuction
Having recently made headlines for shedding 19.4 kilograms (42.8 pounds) through an intensive diet, the 25-year-old idol known for his plump stature and cute looks said the key to his successful weight loss was a healthy diet and a good dance program.
“This is the first time for me to say this in public, but I also went to the hospital for liposuction surgery counseling before going on the diet,” he said.
He also mentioned the double-eyelid cosmetic surgery he had two weeks earlier.
“I once put cellular tape above my eyes for a TV appearance,” he said, referring to a popular Korean tactic used to emulate the double-eyelid look. “The response [from fans] was pretty good,” he said, adding that the surgery had helped correct a drooping eyelid problem that had affected his vision.
This is not the first time that Shindong has gone on a heavy diet. Two months earlier he said in a TV show that he had undergone an up-and-down pattern in body weight. Before his debut he weighed 78 kilograms, he said. Without revealing his current weight, he said his weight fluctuation in a single month had been up to 25 kilograms.

슈퍼주니어 신동이 새로운 깜짝 고백을 더했다.
체중 폭풍감량, 쌍꺼풀 시술 등으로 연일 검색어에 오르내리고 있는 신동은 8월 23일 방송된 SBS 파워FM '최화정의 파워타임'에 출연해 "지방 흡입을 고민한 적이 있다"고 밝혔다.
신동은 최근 다이어트로 19.4kg 폭풍감량한 사실을 밝히면서 "처음 말하는 것이지만 다이어트 하기 전 지방흡입 상담도 받아봤다"며 "하지만 상담만 받고 실제로 하진 못했다. 식이요법과 댄스로 다이어트에 성공했다"고 고백했다.
이어 신동은 "앞으로도 꾸준하게 다이어트 할 계획"이라고 덧붙이며 다이어트 효과를 실감한 모습을 보였다.
또 신동은 최근 화제가 된 쌍꺼풀 수술에 대해 "한 번 쌍꺼풀테이프 붙이고 예능 프로그램에 나가봤는데 괜찮아 보이더라. 안 그래도 요즘 눈빛이 안 좋아 보인다는 소리를 많이 들어서 고민이 많았던터라 쌍꺼풀수술 상담을 받아봤다"고 말했다.
신동은 "상담을 받았더니 눈꺼풀이 쳐져서 눈을 제대로 못뜬다는 이야기를 들어서 상담 받은 김에 쌍꺼풀수술을 하게 됐다. 지금 2주 정도 됐다"고 솔직한 고백을 이었다.
이에 DJ 최화정이 "6개월정도 지나면 정말 멋있어질 것 같다"며 "슈퍼주니어 비쥬얼 순위로 김희철을 이길 수 있을 것 같다"고 응원해 웃음을 자아냈다.
한편 신동이 속한 아이돌그룹 슈퍼주니어는 정규 5집 'Mr.Simple'로 활발한 활동을 이어가고 있다.
