Swiss design exhibit more than about time

테스트

Exhibition curator Roland Eberle, far right, describes one of the pieces in “Criss+Cross. Design from Switzerland 1860-2012,” which continues until Sept. 30 at the Korea University Museum in Anam-dong, northern Seoul.

The exhibition - organized by the Swiss Arts Council, Korea University and the Swiss Embassy in Seoul - aims to show that Switzerland has more to offer than watches and chocolate by highlighting its designers. The more than 400 pieces on display, some dating back 150 years, include furniture, clothing, bags, jewelry and, yes, clocks. Stacked in seven wooden boxes, the pieces were created by designers and engineers working in fashion and graphic and industrial design, and highlight the artists’ attention to convenience, beauty and durability.

The exhibition has traveled to many countries since 2003, including Germany, Poland, Japan, India and China. It will be shown in Busan from Oct. 10 to Nov. 10 at Design Center Busan.
