STX ship unit in Europe wins Norway bidding

STX OSV Holdings, a European unit of STX Group, has won a 150 billion won ($130 million) deal to build three trawlers, the group said yesterday.

Under the deal with Aker Seafoods ASA of Norway, STX OSV will deliver the vessels starting in the second quarter of 2013, it said.

The 1,500-ton ships will each be 70 meters long and be built at STX OSV’s shipyards in Norway and Brazil. STX OSV, which focuses on offshore plants and specialized ships, started trading its shares on the Singapore Exchange last Nov. 12.
