[Sponsored Report] Brands hoping for a good 2012Brand expectation of the major industries can be looked at in terms of products and services.
The products will include electronics, automobiles, other durable goods and nondurable goods.
With living electronic goods, like kimchi refrigerators, it is difficult to secure a continuous level of superiority just by reducing costs and relying on brand awareness. Among the two major players, Samsung Electronics and LG Electronics, LG’s corporate brand image is becoming weak and Samsung Electronics is expected to become the more superior of the two.
In case of the digital appliances, like smartphones, the market is rapidly changing and the smartphone and tablet PC market is expected to show remarkable increase.
As for the automobile industry, Hyundai and Kia Motors are the two strong competitors and are expected to compete fiercely in the mid-sized automobile industry. According to current trends however Hyundai has a sufficient brand history that might give it the advantage.
The service industry, which includes the financial industry, telecommunication services, distribution and other services, is expected to become increasingly competitive. Financial industry products are hard to differentiate and many other financial industries are able to sell similar products meaning competition will likely be fierce. Competition between the number one and number two credit cards and between the leading CMA products is expected to be particularly competitive as the NBCI scores between them are just 1 point apart.
SK subsidiaries are currently dominating both the domestic telecommunications and international calling markets in Korea, with KT dominating the high speed internet service.
