Our eyes in the sky
The Air Force yesterday showed off its first U.S.-made advanced surveillance aircraft, “Peace Eye,” right, which can detect airborne and surface targets in North Korea. The inside of the Boeing E-737, above, was shown to the media for the first time at an Air Force base in Gimhae, South Gyeongsang. It was delivered in early August after completing tests at Boeing’s factory in Seattle. It is Korea’s first airborne early-warning and control aircraft and will be deployed starting next year, the Air Force said. [YONHAP], By Song Bong-geun
