El Nino takes second straight tournament
VALDERRAMA, Spain - Sergio Garcia, fresh from his victory at home in last week’s Castello Masters, followed up by winning the Andalucia Masters here on Sunday. The Spaniard edged out his compatriot Miguel Angel Jimenez by one stroke after shooting a six-under total of 278.
Garcia led by three shots with three holes to play but was challenged by a charging Jimenez who birdied the 16th and 17th. The tournament proved to be much more competitive than Garcia’s 11-stroke stroll in the Castello Masters.
The 31-year-old became the first Spaniard to win a stroke-play event at Valderrama and was going one better after finishing runner-up at this course three times.
