SIWA will host annual bazaar for charity todayThe Seoul International Women’s Association, the nation’s biggest nonprofit run by expats, will host an annual charity bazaar today.
Some 45 embassies, along with several charity groups and other vendors, are scheduled to participate in the bazaar, which will be held at the Grand Hilton Hotel in Hongeun-dong, Seoul, from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., said Eugenie Lee, a public relations officer for SIWA and co-chair of the bazaar.
Among items for sale include wine, food, antiques, handmade crafts, clothing, entertainment pieces and other treasures from around the world, she said.
The bazaar, the 49-year-old organization’s biggest annual event, is being held for the 33rd time today.
The organization said it has raised over 2 billion won ($1.77 million) from its past fund-raising events and donated the proceeds to local charity groups. The proceeds from today’s event will also be donated to more than 50 organizations, Lee said.
