Uniqlo store sees record sales

Japanese fast fashion giant Uniqlo registered sales of 1.28 billion won ($1.1 million) on the first day of business at its new flagship store in Myeong-dong, the highest amount the company has earned with a new store opening in the country, Uniqlo Korea said yesterday.

The new store, the company’s largest Global Flagship Store in Asia, sold popular items at discounts of up to 50 percent on the first three days since it opened on Nov. 11.

Uniqlo Korea said during the special promotional period, the store attracted 120,000 visitors and raised 3.6 billion won.

When Uniqlo’s Gangnam store was launched in October it raised 500 million won on the first day of sales.
