Samsung’s 40-inch table displays grow in demand
Samsung Electronics, the world’s biggest supplier of TVs and liquid crystal display (LCD) panels, said yesterday that it has begun to receive orders in 23 countries for its multi-touch table displays, as the company has recently been trying to woo corporate customers.Jointly developed with Microsoft, the 40-inch display “SUR40,” a large table with a multi-touch screen, can be installed in airports, banks, hotels and other venues, according to Samsung. The LCD screen on top of the table recognizes various finger gestures, such as swiping and clicking, to show interactive images.
