Show of strength on Yeonpyeong

South Korea conducted a large-scale military drill in the Yellow Sea yesterday to check its readiness against another attack from North Korea.

The Joint Chiefs of Staff said yesterday that the Northwest Islands Defense Command, which overseas defense of the five northwestern islands including Yeonpyeong, carried out the drill on Yeonpyeong. The Army, Navy and Air Force participated.

The government also held a memorial service yesterday for the two soldiers killed in the attack, Sergeant Seo Jeong-woo, 22, and Private Moon Gwang-wook, 20. Two civilians were also killed.
