JYJ helps out flood victims in Thailand
On Wednesday, World Vision announced that a 200 million won ($172,600) donation was made by the Korean boy band. The aid organization also said JYJ’s contribution will go toward “emergency goods for the victims as well as toward the recovery project.”
In regards to their donation, JYJ has remained humble saying, “We wanted to do something to return the love we’ve received over the years from our Thai fans.”
JYJ expressed much concern for flood victims by saying they “want to see Korean residents and Thai fans living in affected areas recover quickly and find security and peace.”
JYJ made their debut in 2010 with the band members Kim Jae-joong, Park Yoo-chun and Kim Jun-su, all ex-members of another K-pop group, TVXQ.
Earlier this year, JYJ made yet another donation of 600 million won toward the tsunami relief in Japan, earning them the unofficial title of “donation-dol” (a combination of the words donation and idol group) among netizens.
