LS Cable & System to launch R&D center in China’s WuhanLS Cable & System said yesterday it has opened a research and development center in China to strengthen its footing in the world’s No. 2 economy.
The R&D center, located in the central Chinese city of Wuhan in Hubei, is expected to help develop localized products and foster and secure core technologies, the Korean cable maker said. LS Cable is first in the Korean wire industry to set up an R&D center in China, the firm said.
LS Cable said it has hired top engineering talents from Chinese universities for the R&D center, which is strategically located near the research center of the State Grid Corporation of China and LS Cable’s Chinese office. The new center will focus on developing high-voltage cables and special cables for wind power and mining industries, it added.
