Riot policemen are deployed on the stairs of the Sejong Center for the Performing Arts in central Seoul yesterday to forestall illegal rallies of anti-FTA protesters. A liberal civic group called the Korean Alliance against the Korea-U.S. FTA planned to stage a large vigil last night in central Seoul. At a Saturday rally, demonstrators assaulted the Jongno Police Precinct chief, who attempted to negotiate with opposition lawmakers leading the protestors. [NEWSIS]
