As heads meet, SK seeks tie-ups with China Mobile

The chief executives of China Mobile and SK Telecom will meet later this week to discuss ways of cooperating on high-speed mobile networks, mobile payment technology and new businesses, the Korean carrier said yesterday.

Li Yue, chief executive officer of China’s largest mobile carrier, was scheduled to meet his counterparts Ha Sung-min of SK Telecom and Seo Jin-wook of SK Planet today, a spokesman for SK Telecom said.

They are scheduled to talk about ways of managing increased wireless data traffic; the high-speed, long-term evolution (LTE) service that was launched in Korea this summer; and mobile payments and health care businesses. Yonhap
