Blackout leads to blowout
Black smoke billows out of chimneys at a petrochemical plant in Ulsan, South Gyeongsang, yesterday after a sudden power outage led to the incomplete combustion of chemical products. Production lines were halted for 16 minutes from 1:59 p.m. to 2:15 p.m., when power was restored. There are around 10 petrochemical companies in the complex, including SK Energy. Almost 400 houses and stores in the area are reported to have been affected. [YONHAP]
