Pernod Ricard Korea donates scholarships for students

Pernod Ricard Korea, one of the nation’s top whiskey purveyors, has given scholarships worth 96 million won ($82,687) to 36 students at Gukak National Middle and High School, the company said on Tuesday.

The whiskey manufacturer has been giving financial aid to students at the school, which specializes in nurturing gifted Korean classical music artists, since 2002.

So far, a total of 150 students have benefited from the scholarship program, according to the company.

CEO Jean-Manuel Spriet said his company will continue supporting gifted students in need as part of the company’s corporate social responsibility efforts.

Earlier this year, the company received an award by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism in recognition of having supported the school for 10 years.
