Child performer from “Super Star K 3” to perform at concert

The 11-year-old, top-10 finalist Son Ye-rim from the singing survival show “Super Star K 3” will take the stage at “The Vocalist” concert on Dec. 31 at COEX Convention Center in southeastern Seoul. The annual concert which began in 2009 is known as an event that showcases only the best talents in the music industry. This year’s headlines acts for the show are singers Gummy and Bobby Kim, both renowned solo artists.

Bobby Kim’s agency Oscar ENT said on Dec 28, “Son Ye-rim will be a special guest on the show and will perform alongside Bobby Kim, Gummy, Son Moo-hyun and Kim Hyung-seok.”
The elementary school singer was invited to perform at the show by her guitarist uncle, Son Moo-hyun according to Oscar ENT.

Son rose to fame for becoming the youngest contestant to make it to the final top 10 spot on “Super Star K 3” in September. She was eliminated from the show on Sep. 23 but was given the chance to redeem herself. However Son declined the offer saying, “There are so many other talented singers who are older than me on the show. I’m not sure that I‘ll be able to hold my own. I will spend some time studying music rather than being in the competition.”

On Sep. 27 a representative from the survival show stated that the child star had no plans to sign up with an agency just yet.
