[Letters] The wisest investment: Raising our birthrates
These days, we can easily see two-income families supporting themselves and raising their only child. As a result, we need to make the environment more suitable for women, especially working moms, by providing financial benefits and creating a more birth-friendly and family-friendly atmosphere.As more babies are born, we can secure our working population, which would lighten the burden to support those who cannot make a living by themselves after retirement. Therefore, the government and all segments of our society must devise more useful and realistic ways to boost the fertility rates above world average. That’s the wisest investment.
