Hyundai Amco aims to set sales and orders records in 2012

Hyundai Amco, which is marking its 10th anniversary, announced yesterday that it is aiming to surpass its all-time high in sales and orders this year.

The construction and engineering unit of Hyundai Motor enjoyed an all-time high in 2011 with 3.4 trillion won ($2.9 billion) in orders and 2.1 trillion won in sales. This year, it is hoping to achieve 4 trillion won in orders and 2.5 trillion won in sales.

In the construction sector, the company will focus on winning lucrative projects, such as factories and industrial facilities. In the engineering sector, the company will search for new businesses while also expanding existing ones.

Hyundai Amco said it will also set up a task force that specializes in winning bids to construct steel mills abroad, an area the company hopes will become its key growth engine in the future.
